small churches working with large churches

For the past 3 years I have been worshipping at 2 different churches. One is small (40-80 members); the other is large (600+ members). My heart's desire is to build relationships in both of these churches and have members of both churches begin to build relationships of their own. The churches are less than a mile from each other and both have a heart for the same neighborhood. Is it possible for a large church and a small church to work together in ministry?
